Welly Week, our muddiest campaign, is back this year from Saturday October 27 to Sunday November 4.
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of us and what we do – as well as funds to support our work in rural communities.
How can you get involved?
We’d like you and your friends and colleagues to wear your wellies to work, post your photos on social media and tell people all about us using #wellyweek2018
We’ve also teamed up with Grubs again this year to give away a fantastic pair of boots on each day of Welly Week. Keep an eye on our social media for competition details.
Why support Welly Week?
It’s been a difficult year for many in farming. From January to August this year, we received 582 new referrals; that’s 582 individuals and families contacting us for the first time, seeking help.
As at the end of August, we’ve given out £1.48m this year, including over £301k to working families. Each request for assistance is different so we tailor the support we give.
We help people like council tenant farmer Tom, who lost 400 sheep last winter due to the bad weather. His income was down £30k on the previous year and he was struggling to pay bills. We sent him a cheque for £3k to help him and his family get back on their feet.
The work we do makes a difference, but we can’t do it on our own. That’s why your support during Welly Week is important; to help raise awareness of us and what we do.
Thank you. Together, let’s make a splash this autumn!
