HR Officer

Job Title: HR Officer

Location: Shaw House , Oxford

Hours: 35 hours/week

Salary: £23,000-£25,000

Key purpose of role:

The HR Officer will have a key role in supporting the HR Manager in delivering a HR and compliance service across the charity. The role will ensure that R.A.B.I’s employees are fully supported during all stages of the employee lifecycle, and ensuring the policies and procedures in place are regularly updated and fit for purpose.

Person specification

Essential

  • CIPD qualified Level 3 or above (or working towards qualification)
  • Excellent interpersonal skill with effective communication and presentation skills
  • Collaborative with a solution-orientated approach
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to draft formal communications
  • Excellent IT skills and competent use of MS Office programmes
  • Organised and able to prioritise workload across multiple projects
  • Knowledge of employment law issues
  • Understanding of effective recruitment and selection
  • Affinity with the goals and objectives of R.A.B.I
  • A full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the not-for-profit sector
  • Understanding of the role of trustees and volunteers

Administration Manager

Job Title: Administration Manager

Leading the R.A.B.I administration team, the Administration Manager provides a comprehensive business support service, across facilities, events, and administration. The role is pivotal to the smooth running of the charity.

Person specification

Essential

  • At least 3 years experience of managing teams
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience of providing administrative support for meetings, training and similar events
  • Experience of organising larger events
  • Enthusiasm and positive attitude to colleagues and visitors
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise workloads against deadlines and agreed timelines
  • Experience of preparing reports, briefings, presentations and statistical information
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Always looking for ways to improve systems and processes, particularly through the use of technology
  • A full UK driving licence

Head of Service Provision

Job Title: Head of Service Provision

Location: Shaw House , Oxford

Hours: 35 hours/week

Salary: £48,000-£52,000

Key purpose of role:

The Head of Service Provision is a member of the Senior Management Team with a key role in the provision of strategic and operational management and leadership of our client services. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Head of Operations, the role is pivotal to the development and delivery of R.A.B.I’s support services to the farming community.

In addition to ensuring that the internal systems, resources and processes that support service delivery operate effectively and efficiently across R.A.B.I , the Head of Service Provision will lead the transition of the charity’s support delivery towards a pro-active holistic person-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on and maintain service development and improvements in accordance with strategic direction
  • Ensure service provision is effective, efficient and delivering positive outcomes for service users
  • Lead the development and implementation of operational practice, procedures, guidance, policies and quality measures for the services, including the Helplines Quality Standard
  • Lead, with support from the IS Manager, the development and implementation of a new case management system
  • Assist with the development of the profile and accessibility of the services, developing partnerships where appropriate, to ensure R.A.B.I reach those in need of support
  • Ensure availability and parity of access to services
  • Manage performance and quality assurance, resources, systems and budgets
  • Manage the flow of work to ensure timely delivery of outcomes
  • Implement and lead effective supervision, support, mentoring and training to enable learning and development that enhance the quality of practice across the team
  • Coordinate access to specialist expert advice where necessary
  • Coordinate the resolution of high complexity and high-risk situations and cases
  • Ensure systems are in place to identify, prevent and manage risk relating to service delivery activities
  • Contribute to the development of impact measures and assessment

Person specification

Essential

  • Extensive experience gained within the UK charity sector of leading and developing services and managing teams on a regional or national level
  • Senior level management experience within an organisation undergoing a period of strategic transition with ability to articulate strategic direction
  • Confident line manager with experience of leading a team and/or function and a track record of motivating teams.
  • Experience of leading change and continuous improvement
  • Excellent IT software skills
  • Project/programme management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding principles and practice
  • Experience of best practice in data protection and the practical application of these principles
  • Affinity with the goals and objectives of R.A.B.I.
  • Ability to produce high quality written work
  • Ability to work independently across multiple physical sites with minimal time management.
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Flexible and resilient, solution focussed
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel and work some unsociable hours, including occasional overnight stays
