Bucks committee member Alan Read (pictured right), once again donned his apron and won the men’s bake off competition at the annual Creslow Manor cream tea.
Around 200 people attended the event, which raised £3,056. Creslow Manor is home to Bucks committee members Brian and Linda Lear, who have been hosting fundraising events since 2010. Located near Aylesbury, the manor provides the perfect setting to sip tea in the countryside.
At last year’s event, Alan baked a cake for the first time in more than 30 years. Having caught the baking bug, he stunned guests again by whipping up a farm-inspired treat complete with a liquorice allsorts tractor and marshmallow sheep.
As well as the bake off, guests had fun bidding in an auction led by John Blanchard from Thame Market. A raffle and a game of ‘guess the number of balloons in a car’ also contributed to funds raised.
