Alice Kennard was awarded the South West Regional Prize at R.A.B.I’s awards ceremony for her contributions to the charity. Dorset chairman Hugh Archer presented her with the award.
Joshua Hosier, R.A.B.I deputy chairman, said: “Alice Kennard is owner and organiser of the wonderful Forde Abbey Summer Fair at her beautiful home, Forde Abbey in Dorset.”
The event attracts around 5,000 visitors each July to a traditional summer fair, including a dog show, classic car display, trade stands and main ring displays, all in a stunning setting in front of the Abbey.
Joshua added: “Alice is the driving force of the organising committee. While she has the event running beautifully each year, it’s not without an enormous amount of time, effort and hard work.
“We are fortunate enough to be have been involved as one of the two chosen charities to benefit from proceeds of the event for many years.”
