R.A.B.I supporter Carol Stephenson, pictured below right, will be hosting a fundraising afternoon tea and table-top sale at her home in Flint on Saturday 20 August.
Carol, who lives at Sylfaen Farm with husband Tom, is a member of R.A.B.I’s Clwyd Committee which is organising the event and will be making sandwiches and baking cakes for the occasion.
R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, Linda Jones, said: “Last year’s event was extremely successful and I couldn’t believe the number and variety of cakes that were available for guests to enjoy. Our volunteers will certainly have a very busy week, with many also attending the Denbigh & Flint Show.
“We greatly appreciate the efforts made by our volunteers to host events such as this in order to raise money for farming families in hardship. It is a difficult time for many in the farming sector, but we are here to support them.”
Last year, R.A.B.I gave out more than £17,000 in Clwyd alone.
Clwyd Committee County Chairman Glyn Colclough urged people to spend £5 on a ticket for the tea and table-top sale. He said: “You can eat as much as you want for a fiver, so why not come along to our marquee at the Denbigh & Flint Show and buy your ticket in advance for the afternoon tea?”
