Ladies from the Ceredigion committee put their feet up while the men cooked and served a shepherd’s pie meal, raising £1,322.
Stephen Hunt, honorary president of the committee, said: “The idea for this event initially came from my dear wife Chris, who passed away in 2016. She said she would love to see all the men on the committee preparing a meal for the ladies.”
The event took place at the Aberaeron Rugby Club during Love Lamb Week – an industry-wide initiative to celebrate everything that’s good about lamb. Theresa and Gary Glover of Plwmp donated the meat for the meal.
The Carmarthen Ukuleles Group provided the entertainment on the evening and had everyone on their feet dancing and singing along within minutes of the opening numbers.
Stephen said: “We had one of the best evenings ever and the Carmarthen Ukuleles group were absolutely amazing and created such a fun atmosphere.”
Euros Davies, Ceredigion committee chair, added: “I would like to thank everyone who attended or contributed towards the success of this event. Welsh Lamb is a tasty and nutritious product and we are proud to have done our bit to promote Welsh Lamb during Love Lamb Week.”
