The Bishop’s Garden in Ely was the perfect setting for a cheese and wine evening, organised by the Cambridgeshire committee. The event raised more than £3,000.
Guests were welcomed with a glass of fizz and a tour round the garden, which sits next to Ely Cathedral. Eboracum Baroque, a group of young professional singers and instrumentalists, entertained the supporters when they sat down in the marquee for their cheese and wine. A tombola at the end of the evening saw many walking away with armfuls of bottles.
Lucy Bellefontaine, regional manager for the East, said: “I would like to thank Barclay’s for their match-funding.
“Last year we gave out £27k in grants to farming people in Cambridgeshire. The money raised at this event will go towards helping those in financial hardship get back on their feet.”
