Dorothy the donkey was star of the show at the Cumbria R.A.B.I carol service on 8 December. The event was very well attended despite of being in the midst of the Cumbrian floods with standing room only remaining at Hopes Auction Mart. The service was particularly poignant because of the flooding affecting the area, but it was a great chance to come together as a community. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a supper and raffle and a grand total of £3,000 was raised for R.A.B.I.
Huge thanks to all the sponsors and to Ian Parker of Barclays who match funded the event. Special thanks to R.A.B.I trustee Nicki Quayle, the Cumbrian committee, Hopes Auction mart, in particular Michael and Betty Graham for all their hard work setting the event up.
