Next week, June 1-7, members of the Newton St Cyres Young Farmers’ Club will walk and run 400 miles to raise funds for R.A.B.I, Cancer Research UK and Devon Air Ambulance.
“Due to the coronavirus, Newton St Cyres Young Farmers’ Club have been unable to go ahead with their original fundraising plans for this year,” said club secretary Victoria Boxall-Hunt. “Instead, we have come up with a different idea – something that we can still do during lockdown.”
The group chose 400 miles because this is the distance to travel to every YFC in Devon. Current and former members of the club will join in to collectively cover the distance during the week.
Victoria added: “We’re challenging other young farmers’ clubs within Devon to have a go too. We hope that this will spread across the county to raise lots of much-needed funds for charities.”
