RABI is making strong progress on FarmersAid, a new initiative launching in June 2026. As part of this first phase, the FarmersAid app will put clear, step-by-step guidance into people’s hands, helping them take action in the first critical minutes after a serious on-farm accident.
Grounded in real-world experience
The latest testing involved a mix of people with practical farming knowledge, including those with experience of working with machinery, as well as livestock and arable farmers from local networks. Participants shared insight into how incidents happen in practice, where risks commonly arise and how guidance needs to work under pressure.
Participants also explored real equipment and discussed common points of injury and entrapment, helping to shape how real-time, step-by-step guidance is delivered in high-pressure situations.
Testing how the FarmersAid app performs under pressure
Using a working prototype, participants were asked to respond to realistic emergency scenarios, including incidents involving machinery, unresponsive casualties and vehicle-related injuries.
The sessions were designed to assess whether users could quickly find the right guidance without prior training, even in conditions where mobile signal may be limited, and while emergency services are on the way.
What happens next
Insights gathered from these sessions will now inform the next stage of development, refining both the structure and content of the app.
