RABI has received a £6,000 donation from Wynnstay staff members who collectively travelled over 29,239 miles in a fundraising challenge.
The cheque for the funds was recently presented to Linda Jones, RABI’s regional manager in Wales by Gareth Davies, Wynnstay Group CEO.
The aim of the North to South Charity Challenge was to virtually travel the 644 miles between Wynnstay’s most northern office, Montrose in Scotland, to their most southern store, in Helston in Cornwall, as many times as possible.
By the end of the challenge, 201 staff members, along with family and friends, managed to walk, run, swim or cycle the equivalent distance a total of 45 times.
“We are thrilled to have been able to undertake this challenge to raise funds for RABI. The work that RABI do is so fundamentally important to the farming community. As a business working within this sector, we feel it is vitally important to support the fantastic work they do,” says Gareth.
“RABI thoroughly appreciates the effort and commitment shown by Wynnstay’s staff,” says Linda. “A huge thanks goes to everyone involved and to Wynnstay for their continued support. The very generous donation will help us to continue to develop our service delivery programmes and reach more farming people who need support,” concludes Linda.
