RABI has announced the return of their Winter Fuel Grant this month, dedicating £1/2 million to alleviate the additional financial pressures the cold winter months bring to farming families.
Offering a fixed sum of £400 per household, the Winter Fuel Grant is open to working, non-working and retired members of the farming community. Eligible members must have both farmed for a minimum of two years and currently reside in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.
“Rural communities continue to be hit hard by the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, and finances can be stretched to breaking point by the freezing winter conditions we’re experiencing,” said RABI Director of Services, Caron Whaley. “This year, we aim to twice as many farming households through the Winter Fuel Grant as in 2024.”

The Winter Fuel Grant is part of RABI’s ongoing commitment to addressing the individual needs of farming people across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
