Supporters donned fur and feathers for a ball at the North Lakes Hotel in Penrith, raising £11,500.
Spearheaded by Cumbria committee member Chris Dickinson, the night welcomed 150 guests for a night of food, a promise auction, and dancing to music by local band Furious Styles. Joshua Hosier, R.A.B.I’s deputy chairman, attended the event and spoke to a packed room about the work of the charity.
The promise auction was led by Thomas Armstrong of H&H Land. Lots included Six Nations tickets for the England verses Wales match, which sold for £500, and dinner at Cumbria committee member Pat Turnbull’s home, which went for an incredible £900.
Guests included Hannah Jackson (2nd left), better known as the Red Shepherdess, a first-generation farmer who recently competed in Channel 4’s ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
Georgina Lamb, regional manager for the North West, said: “The event was a staggering success. A huge amount of effort went into this outstanding night. Thank you to everyone involved, especially Chris Dickinson who secured support from corporates and auction lots.”
