Supporters in Yorkshire celebrated Great British Beef Week with a delicious roast beef dinner, raising £830.
The Great British Beef Week campaign is organised by Ladies in Beef – a group of 150 female beef farmers. Their aim is to promote the environmental and health benefits of British beef.
The East Yorkshire committee welcomed 75 guests to the Railway Inn in New Ellerby. The Inn was once a train stop, hence the name, and saw its last train pass through in 1964. Sue Perkins transformed it into an inn and currently runs it with her two daughters. They provide locally sourced meals, including British beef.
Guests had the chance to win a joint of beef in a game of Heads & Tails, as well as a number of other prizes in the raffle.
