The Hampshire committee won the R.A.B.I Cup at the charity’s annual awards ceremony, held in Oxfordshire.
The cup is awarded to the most progressive county committee. Hampshire chairman John Korbey and committee member Norma Morris collected the prize from NFU vice president Stuart Roberts.
R.A.B.I deputy chairman Joshua Hosier said: “The Hampshire committee is now quite large with all generations represented from YFCs to Farming clubs. Because of this, they organise a whole range of events to cater for all interests.”
‘One foot in the furrow’ is a new event in the New Forest organised by the committee. The idea was for those within the rural community to socialise informally with like-minded people. After a successful first meeting, a number of more events were added to the calendar.
Joshua added: “The networks the committee has established has brought the ongoing loyalty of many individuals, businesses and organisations. It goes to prove that once you have a successful and fun group, others are keen to join.”
