Harvest is one of the most significant times of year for the agricultural community, representing for many, the culmination of a year’s hard work.
In time-honoured tradition, churches of all denominations will be holding harvest festival services this September, many taking place around the Autumn equinox and Harvest Moon.
These services not only celebrate the food grown on English and Welsh land; they are also an opportunity to give thanks to those who have worked so tirelessly to produce it.
Churches throughout England and Wales have supported RABI throughout our 160-year history and we continue to work closely together. This year, RABI’s regional managers have written to churches in their local area. This is to offer harvest festival resources and share some of the stories about the support that RABI provides to farming people.
It’s more important than ever that we show our appreciation to our local farming communities, particularly at this special time of rejoicing and sharing.
Church groups that would like to involve RABI as part of their service please email info@rabi.org.uk. We’ll be happy to share the resources to promote and support your harvest celebrations.
Please keep an eye on RABI’s regional social media channels for details of services taking place in your local area.
