Heulen Cynfal, regional manager for North Wales, entertained guests at two events in one weekend with her spectacular voice.
Heulen trained in classical and opera singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she gained her masters.
On Saturday evening, supporters in Merionethshire tucked into a hog roast at Bryncelynog Farm, Cwm Prysor and raised £2,924.78. Over 250 people enjoyed dinner followed by dessert, prepared by Pwllheli based pig farm Oinc Oink. A raffle and auction on the night brought in further funds.
Heulen performed, but wasn’t the only entertainment for the night. She was joined by singers the Welsh Whisperer, Geraint Roberts, and Tomos and Awel. Accompanist for the evening was Alwena Morgan.
On Sunday, 300 guests gathered for lunch at the Llanfair Caereinion Showground in Montgomeryshire, raising £4,000 for R.A.B.I and the Llanfair Caereinion Show.
The marquee attendees dined in was used for a flower display the previous day, so guests had the chance to marvel at the floral centrepieces. Ty Cerrig Caterers served a buffet lunch and volunteers from the Guilsfield Football Club ensured no one went without a refreshment from the bar.
In addition to Heulen’s singing, visitors were entertained by melodies from harpist Lynfa Jones and the local YFC. The organisers also hosted a promise auction with prizes such as a Prosecco Sunday Lunch for 10 at Trewythen Lodges, which sold for £700.
