A Houghton Weavers concert, held in Rainford, Merseyside, raised £1,500. The money will be donated to R.A.B.I and the Rainford Band.
The folk band proved so popular that tickets for the event sold out three months before the event. Guests squeezed into the Rainford Village Hall to enjoy the music and a hot pot dinner. A raffle raised additional funds.
Georgina Lamb, regional manager for the North West, said: “I’d like to thank the Merseyside committee members who helped out on the night. The funds raised will go towards supporting farmers and farm workers in financial hardship.”
