Jayne Galway, a supporter from Staffordshire, skydived 10,000ft to raise funds for RABI and the Air Ambulance. £1,020 will be donated to RABI.
“It’s an experience I’ll never forget,” Jayne said. “It was absolutely fantastic. The adrenaline rush is out of this world.”
She took the plunge in tandem with an instructor at the Skydive Tilstock Freefall Club near Whitchurch, Shropshire. The view from the air takes in the stunning Welsh border and surrounding farmland.
“A skydive is something I’ve always wanted to do. It became a reality when I got a ticket for Christmas. I thought I shouldn’t let the opportunity go to waste, so I decided to raise funds for two important charities.”
Jayne’s partner is a farmer, so she wanted to do something to give back to that community. They’d heard the name ‘RABI’ before and thought it only appropriate to raise funds for the charity.
“Thinking back on it, I still feel emotional. I was absolutely bricking it before I went up. I remember the moment my stomach dropped away and all I could see was the horizon. It was fantastic and I’m glad I did it for a good cause.”
Jayne is already thinking of what she can do to top the skydive.
