More than 150 guests squeezed into Amos Hall at the Ashford Market, Kent, for a harvest supper. The event raised £5,200.
Organised by Hobbs Parker, the event invited guests to have a go at the tombola and the whiskey raffle while the team from the market’s Stockpot Café served a roast beef dinner. John and Sheila Adams donated bramley apples for a crumble pudding.
Mark Clevedon from Hobbs Parker auctioned off lots, which had been kindly donated by supporters.
Sally Field, regional manager for the South East, said: “I’d like to thank Barclays for their match funding. It’s been a difficult year for farmers, from weeks of snow to the long heatwave. The funds raised will go towards those struggling financially.”
