R.A.B.I’s County Durham committee held a ‘Spring into Spring’ ladies event at Headlam Hall, Darlington, last week where they very much enjoyed being waited on by the male members of the group!
Dressed in their finest party dresses, 112 ladies enjoyed canapés and Prosecco whilst their male counterparts, dressed in their black tie best, sold raffle tickets and generally ensured the guests were looked after.
There were demonstrations from a selection of local artisan food and drink producers including Weardale Cheese, who make handmade cheeses in Weardale, Whittaker’s Gin, who make small batch distilled gin in Yorkshire, and Chocolate Fayre, who sell handmade chocolates and truffles from their Barnard Castle shop. Guests heard all about their products, had the chance to taste samples and, of course, buy some goodies to take home.
The evening was compered by Mr Nigel Wilson and a brilliant time was had by all, at the same time raising £1,731 for R.A.B.I.
