To celebrate British produce, the Leicestershire committee has organised an online show for supporters to flaunt their hard work.

The Leicestershire Online Produce Show invites supporters to submit photos of their products in six classes (listed below). Sally Lane, committee secretary, said: “I came up with the idea as I was conscious we haven’t been able to fundraise recently. I put my idea to the committee, who were very supportive, and four of us built the idea up into a competition.”

To enter, participants will need to take a photo of their produce and email them to the SecretaryleicsRABI@gmail.com along with a completed Entry Form by midnight Aug 31. Winners will be notified by Sept 16.

The classes are:

• Class 1: Decorated Cake – an eight-inch round sponge cake to be decorated to a VE Day theme.
• Class 2: Vegetable Animal – (children only class) – an animal, real or fantasy, made from fruit and/or vegetables.
• Class 3: Flower Arrangement – following the theme a “Harvest Thanksgiving”, present an exhibit of flowers & natural materials.
• Class 4: Longest Runner Bean – to be photographed alongside a tape measure.
• Class 5: Three Carrots.
• Class 6: Best Scarecrow – traditional or modern, a maximum of 5 feet tall.

Submission fees are £3 for adults and £2 for children aged 12 and under. Each class has an adult and child section, except Class 2 which his for children only.
