More than 700 people visited Litchpole Farm in West Sussex as part of Open Farm Sunday and raised £1,563.
Guests explored the farm and learned all about the cattle, crops and sheep-shearing. The farmers also took attendees on a trailer tour of the land and explained how things worked.
Sally Field, regional manager for the South East, said: “When Caroline Harriott, NFU West Sussex county chair, asked us to be involved it was such an unknown. Thankfully, the West Sussex committee pulled together to produce a bountiful array of cakes and helped serve refreshments on our stand throughout the day.
“A heart-warming bonus to the day was a visit from an agricultural dealer, who told me about how R.A.B.I had helped his grandad. He gave us all a big thanks.”
