Heulen Cynfal is R.A.B.I’s new regional manager for North Wales. She’s taking over from Becky Davies, who is going on maternity leave in mid-June, and will cover Anglesey, Caenarfon, Conwy, Clwyd and Montgomeryshire.
Heulen was brought up on her grandparents’ farm in Trawsfynydd, Merionethshire, and her family looks after sheep and cows. She said: “I loved living on the farm. When I was little my dream was to travel the world, then come back and buy a farm.”
Before coming to R.A.B.I, Heulen trained in classical and opera singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she gained her masters. She went on to train as a primary school teacher and offers music lessons privately.
Heulen said: “I’ve been away for ten years, so it’s nice to return to agriculture and get back in touch with farming. Farming is still my goal; my partner and I hope to work on a farm in some capacity in the future.”
For the next week Heulen will be working alongside Becky before taking over the role. Heulen added: “I’m excited to meet all the committee members and R.A.B.I supporters in the area.”
