John Korbey, Hampshire chairman, took 50 guests on a trailer tour of Burley Park in the New Forest, raising £600.
Guests enjoyed the stunning scenery, with commentary from John, and stopped to see the friendly red deer that roam the 50 acre enclosure next to the park. Visitors got so close to the animals they could hand feed them sweetcorn and vegetables off cuts.
Derek Olden, from the New Forest Tractor and Engine Club, brought along a few vintage and classic vehicles and agricultural equipment for guests to view while they settled down for their picnic. Volunteers from the Hampshire committee provided a selection of food and Dan Tanner, who runs the park, offered fresh picked strawberries for everyone to enjoy.
Sally Field, regional manager for the South East, said: “Thank you to the NFU for their support at this event. This was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of R.A.B.I in an area of Hampshire full of small farming families.”
