NFU President Tom Bradshaw and NFU Director General Terry Jones have released a video pledging to take RABI’s mental health training, acknowledging Mental Health Awareness Week 2024.
“We are both people who interact with farmers and we can see firsthand the impacts that mental health can have on those individuals,” said Terry Jones. “So together, we are pledging to undertake the RABI Mental Health training in the coming weeks.”
The NFU President and Director General join other politicians, industry organisations and social media influencers who have made pledges as part of RABI’s Empowering the Worth and Wellbeing of Farming People initiative, which was launched at the House of Lords on 17 April 2024.
The year-long initiative aims to deepen engagement with partners and bring together the farming and wider agricultural sector to find solutions to increase the mental resilience of the farming community.
Pledging may be a small step to take as individuals, but collectively, the pledges will raise awareness of the issues that farming people face and the invaluable support that RABI provides.
