“Raising funds for this tremendous charity has got to be fun,” said Phil Smallwood, who won the North West regional award for his annual Christmas quizzes.
Phil is an active member of the Cheshire committee and over the years has hosted a range of events on his farm, with the help of his wife Dorothy. His most popular events are his Christmas quizzes, which round off each year with a bang. To the delight of his audience, he dresses up at each quiz, with last year’s costume being a Christmas fairy.
Lord Plumb presented Phil with his prize at R.A.B.I’s awards ceremony in Oxfordshire.
Joshua Hosier, R.A.B.I deputy chairman, said: “Phil is a bit of a legend. He has time for everyone, is a great ambassador for R.A.B.I and makes fundraising fun.”
Phil added: “I’m mentored by a tremendous committee and supported by the superb regional manager Georgina Lamb.”
