A virtual agricultural show, set to take place on May 2, will raise funds for farming charities R.A.B.I, RSABI, FCN, the DPJ Foundation and YANA.
The Greatest Online Agricultural Show will take place entirely online via the website www.onlineagshow.co.uk. Organiser David Hill, an estate manager in Berkshire, came up with the idea to fill the void left by regular agricultural shows which have been cancelled due to COVID-19. The show will include trade stands, taking the form of links on the website, as well as classes, entertainment and even a virtual beer tent.
David said: “Following a couple of local show cancellations, it crossed my mind that an online show could be organised as a way of connecting people regardless of the virus. The overall aim is to make the classes simple and a bit of free fun for all the family to get involved with.”
Calling on the support of the farming community, David held a competition for under-16s to create the event’s logo. After judging by the Oxford Farming Conference’s ’Emerging Leaders Group 2019’, 12-year-old Tilly’s design was picked as the winner.
