The Buckinghamshire committee organised its first Great British Beef Week event and raised £600.
The event was held at The Bell Hotel in Winslow, where 68 guests tucked into a beef pies. The Bell has won eight awards for its pies, including two golds for the best steak pie in England from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).
A raffle after dinner raised £330. Parrot Bros Butchers donated a roast beef lunch and The Bell added two vouchers for a three course meal for two as prizes.
Jenni Green, regional manager for South Central, said: “It was the first time the Bucks committee has organised an event to celebrate GBBW, but what better place to hold it than at the home of award winning British pies?”
