Members of our Brecon & Radnor Committee will be present at the Brecon Show to spread the word about our work, thanks to the generosity and kindness of Bryan Hammatt, of Welsh Farm Supplies, who has paid for the pitch on behalf of the charity.
The Brecon Show is held on the first Saturday in August at the showground at Watton and regularly attracts more than 20 trade stands and around 10,000 people.
Bryan said: “It is a pleasure to support R.A.B.I. Spreading the word or raising funds by way of collection tins at rural shows will hopefully contribute towards the work of this amazing charity, which assists farming people of all ages, without prejudice or judgement.”
The hardworking Brecon & Radnor committee was awarded the Bryn Davies Bowl at our AGM awards ceremony in May, for making the ‘greatest contribution’ to the charity in Wales in 2015. Last year, R.A.B.I helped around 200 families across Wales and grants of £34,000 were paid out in Brecon & Radnor alone. The Bryn Davies Bowl will be on display at R.A.B.I’s marquee at the Brecon Show.
Elaine Stephens, chair of R.A.B.I’s Brecon & Radnor committee, said: “We are extremely grateful to Bryan Hammatt for enabling us to have a presence at our county show. These are very challenging times for farming families and we greatly appreciate the help that people and rural businesses provide. We urge people in financial hardship not to suffer in silence, but to talk to R.A.B.I’s welfare team in complete confidence.”
