The third annual R.A.B.I race day held at the Plumpton racecourse in East Sussex raised approximately £7,500.
Around 270 supporters turned out to watch the races and enjoy a marquee event. Jockey and tipster David Crosse entertained with his expert knowledge on the runners. At the end of the day, he took guests, including comedian Micky Flanagan, on a trip across the racecourse to the final fence.
Betty Chantler sponsored a race in aid of R.A.B.I and in memory of her late sister, Joan Collison. The race was won by Brandon Castle, ridden by Bryony Frost (pictured above).
Sally Field, regional manager for the South East, said: “It was Betty’s idea three years ago to arrange a race day in aid of R.A.B.I and since then we’ve had three enjoyable and successful events.
“We couldn’t have done this without our fantastic supporters, who helped organise and run the event. I’d like to thank the local businesses who provided lots for the auction and all the Plumpton college agricultural students who helped with the exit collection.”
