A quiz night at Aberaeron Rugby Club, organised by R.A.B.I’s Ceredigion Committee has raised £383.
Malcolm Thomas MBE, who became R.A.B.I’s first ever Welsh chairman in May, was quizmaster at the rugby club fundraiser. Joan Jones, chair of the Ceredigion R.A.B.I committee, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who supported us. It was a fun evening with lots of lively banter and I certainly hope we can arrange another one soon.”
11 teams took part and quizzers enjoyed sausage and chips at half-time, speedily delivered by Ceredigion deputy chair – and local vet – Frances Jones. The winning team comprised Helen and John Hunt and Alison and Dai Mayes, who generously donated their prize money back to R.A.B.I.
Linda Jones, R.A.B.I regional manager for Wales, said: “It’s been a difficult year for many farming people throughout Wales, but events such as this really do help us to make a difference. R.A.B.I gave out more than £40,000 in Ceredigion in 2015, assisting 31 farming families who were in severe financial need, largely through no fault of their own.”
