The Show is reputedly one of Britain’s most traditional, with very few corporate sponsors, and the emphasis on older forms of entertainment and agricultural display. Having been formed in 1860, R.A.B.I is well versed in agriculture – past and present – and regional manager Sally Field was on hand to explain the charity’s role in the present day to guests to the stand.
Two competitions also kept visitors busy – ‘guess how many balloons in the morris minor’ (won by Reg Whitchard) and ‘hook a duck’! With thanks to the Hampshire committee and guests, £700 was raised.
