R.A.B.I has received a £1,431.90 donation after winning a public vote to receive the proceeds of dating and friendship website Muddy Matches ‘Messagathon’ event.
The vote ran from 1 – 30 November 2014 and saw stiff competition between the three farming charities (R.A.B.I., FACE and FCN). At times during the month, R.A.B.I and FACE were just one vote apart, but a final push by R.A.B.I. supporters lead to an 18 vote lead over their competition.
The Muddy Matches Messagathon ran from 8 – 14 December 2014 and during that time 10p per message that was sent between members on www.muddymatches.co.uk was put aside for R.A.B.I.
Muddy Matches is a website for people who enjoy a ‘muddy boots lifestyle’ and is run by sisters Lucy and Emma Reeves (pictured above). Muddy Matches has over 100,000 registered members in the UK and Ireland and has been running since 2007.
Before the event, co-founder of Muddy Matches Lucy Reeves said: “We hope to raise a large amount of money for R.A.B.I during the Messagathon and we also wish to encourage people to send lots messages to one another.”
We would like to thank the team at Muddy Matches, and of course, all the members who messaged during the Messageathon!
