In April, the 12th annual Great British Beef Week returned to recognise British beef farmers and highlight sustainable production practices on farms. Organisers Ladies in Beef once again  chose RABI as their partner charity, and county committees across the country held special fundraising events to celebrate the week.

Buckinghamshire RABI Pie & Pudding night

Bucks RABI held their Pie & Pudding Night at The Bell, Winslow after a two year break due to Covid. 50 people joined the committee to celebrate GBBW. Beef pie was on the menu and a delicious selection of desserts to choose from! On the evening a raffle took place and the committee managed to raise £547.

Berkshire RABI St George’s Day Beef Dinner

Berkshire RABI held a St George’s Day beef dinner at The Queens Lodge, East Garston to celebrate GBBW. 60 people came and supported the event and filled the venue!

A lovely 3 course dinner was served including a sharing platter, roast beef & all of the trimmings, finishing with crumble. The roast beef was donated by the local Rooksnest Estate – just down the road from the venue!  The evening was a success, raising money for RABI through a raffle.

Gloucestershire GBBW Supper

Gloucestershire RABI Committee members and Tanya Robbins, Ladies in Beef member, held a beef supper fundraiser at The Star, Ashton Under Hill. It was a sell out event with 46 attending, taking over the whole restaurant! The raffle was a success, raising £574 or RABI!

Wiltshire RABI Great British Beef Week Dinner

55 guests joined the Wiltshire RABI county committee in the Ballroom at The Bear Hotel in Devizes to celebrate Great British Beef Week. Attendees enjoyed a slow cooked blade of beef followed by a selection of desserts. There was also a raffle including a lovely hamper donated by NFU Mutual Marlborough and other goodies.

East Yorkshire Committee GBBW

The East Yorkshire RABI county committee celebrated Great British Beef Week with food, fun, and plenty of chatter at the Railway Inn in New Ellerby. 60 guests enjoyed a fantastic two course beef dinner, raffle and a heads and tails competition to win a joint of beef.
