    Arolwg Ffermio Mawr

“Nawr mae angen i ni greu dyfodol gwell i bobl sy’n ffermio”

Mae canlyniadau Arolwg Ffermio Mawr RABI wedi datgelu bod dros 50% o’r gymuned ffermio yn parhau i fod yn optimistaidd ynglŷn â dyfodol eu busnesau ffermio serch eu bod yn wynebu heriau iechyd meddwl a chorfforol sylweddol.

Cafodd y canlyniadau, sy’n seiliedig ar dros 15,000 o ymatebion i’r arolwg, eu lansio ar 14 Hydref i 70 o gynrychiolwyr dylanwadol o’r sector amaethyddol mewn digwyddiad lansio yn Birmingham.

Mewn ymateb i’r casgliadau, mae RABI wedi amlinellu pum thema graidd a lywiwyd gan yr ystadegau mwyaf trawiadol, ac mae wedi galw ar y sector i helpu i sbarduno ymateb effeithiol i’r heriau a nodwyd.

    BFS launch- Alicia presenting

Yn dilyn anerchiad croesawu gan y Prif Weithredwr, Alicia Chivers, cyflwynwyd y canlyniadau arloesol gan Dr Rebecca Wheeler a’r Athro Matt Lobley, y Tîm Ymchwil yng Nghanolfan Polisi Gwledig Prifysgol Caerwysg. Dilynwyd hyn gan reolwr partneriaeth gorfforaethol RABI, Suzy Deeley, a ymhelaethodd ar y pum ystadegyn allweddol y mae’n rhaid i’r diwydiant ymateb iddynt:

    1. Mae’n debygol neu’n bosibl bod 36% o’r gymuned ffermio yn dioddef o iselder.
    2. Mae dros hanner y menywod (58%) yn dioddef o orbryder ysgafn, cymedrol neu ddifrifol.
    3. Ar gyfartaledd, mae chwe ffactor yn achosi straen ar draws y gymuned ffermio. Y ffynonellau mwyaf cyffredin o straen a adroddwyd yw: rheoliadau, cydymffurfiad ac archwiliadau, Covid-19, tywydd gwael/anrhagweladwy, colli cymorthdaliadau/cytundebau masnach yn y dyfodol.
    4. Mae dros hanner y gymuned ffermio (52%) yn dioddef o boen ac anghysur, mae gan un o bob pedwar broblemau symudedd, ac mae 21% yn cael anhawster i gyflawni tasgau arferol oherwydd materion iechyd.
    5. Mae 59% o’r atebwyr yn credu bod eu busnes yn hyfyw am y pum mlynedd nesaf.

    BFS launch - Becca presenting

Rhannodd Ms Deeley rai o’r detholiadau cadarnhaol yn y data, sy’n dangos pa mor bwysig yw adeiladu ar gryfderau’r gymuned ffermio.

“Mae’r arolwg hwn o genhedlaeth wedi dangos bod pobl sy’n ffermio yn parhau i fod yn rhyfeddol wydn er gwaethaf yr heriau niferus sy’n eu hwynebu, ac mae angen i ni ganolbwyntio ar hyn. O ran dyled i bob person sy’n ffermio, rhaid i ni ddefnyddio’r dystiolaeth hon i weithredu i wella llesiant ffermwyr,” meddai Ms Deeley.

“Rydym yn credu bod rhaid i bobl sy’n ffermio a’r sector ehangach gydweithredu i ddatblygu atebion i’r materion a nodwyd. Felly, bydd RABI yn defnyddio’r canlyniadau i lywio esblygiad ein gwasanaethau a chroesawu eraill i gyfrannu at lunio cymorth i ffermwyr yn y dyfodol,”parhaodd Ms Deeley.

    BFS launch - Suzy presenting

Mewn ymateb i’r ymchwil yn yr Arolwg Ffermio Mawr, esboniodd Ms Deeley y bydd RABI yn lansio cynlluniau peilot ar dair rhaglen gymorth newydd cyn hir. Mae’r rhain yn cynnwys gwasanaeth hyfforddi cymorth cyntaf pwrpasol ar iechyd meddwl, mynediad at gymorth iechyd meddwl mewn person, a threialon ychwanegol ar fenter Hoelion Wyth Cymunedol RABI.

“Mae llawer iawn o waith yn mynd yn ei flaen y tu ôl i’r llenni yn RABI i gyflwyno ymateb priodol, wedi’i dargedu, mewn partneriaeth â sefydliadau partner allweddol, ac edrychwn ymlaen at fedru rhannu mwy o’r datblygiadau hyn cyn hir. Bydd y cynlluniau peilot yn cael eu cyflwyno yn ychwanegol at y gwasanaethau cymorth traddodiadol, hirsefydlog y mae RABI yn adnabyddus amdanynt, ac yn ategu’r platfform llesiant ar-lein, Qwell, a lansiom y llynedd,” ychwanegodd Ms Deeley.

“Rydyn ni’n dra diolchgar i’r holl gynrychiolwyr a fu’n bresennol yn y lansiad ac a wnaeth gyfraniad gwerthfawr i’r trafodaethau pwysig hyn. Rydym wedi dangos bod yna wir awydd am gydweithio i fynd i’r afael â’r heriau sy’n wynebu ffermwyr.”

    BFS launch - Matt presenting

Yn ei sylwadau ar yr ymchwil, esboniodd Matt Lobley, Athro Rheoli Adnoddau Gwledig ym Mhrifysgol Caerwysg ac arweinydd yr ymchwil: “Mae’r Arolwg Ffermio Mawr wedi darparu sail dystiolaeth ddigynsail sydd wedi rhoi dealltwriaeth llawer gwell o realitioedd bywyd ar ffermydd. Mae cyfle unigryw bellach i adeiladu ar y casgliadau a gyflwynwyd. Mae ein hargymhellion yn ymgyfuno i raddau helaeth â sut mae RABI yn esblygu ei wasanaethau yn ystod y cyfnod hwn o drawsnewid amaethyddol.”
