NFU Cheshire held a race night with a twist – guests attending were the horses!
More than 180 people got involved in the fundraiser, which brought in over £2,000 for R.A.B.I. It proved a lot of fun with each competing ‘thoroughbred’ getting a hobby horse, racing silks and cap. They lined up on the course and advanced to the throw of a dice. The Blackburn family, led by Cheshire NFU county chair Richard and wife Claire, hosted the event at their farm near Nantwich.
It recreated a true race meeting with prize money for winners, sponsors for the six races, commentators, buffet and bar and a photographer tasking pictures of racegoers and mascots. People even had the chance to have a flutter. Thanks to Helen Wainwright for coordinating.
