On July 28, Richard Millener (pictured) will take on the Outlaw Ironman to raise funds for R.A.B.I.
A car lover, Richard works for M-Sport and is in charge of their Ford World Rally Team. His second passion is farming, which he fell in love with as a child after visiting his uncle’s farm.
Richard said: “At the age of around 11 I visited my uncle’s farm in North Devon for a week. From that week on, I ended up going to the farm every day I possibly could.”
The Outlaw Ironman is a triathlon that includes a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and finishing with a 26 mile run. He is undergoing the gruelling challenge in memory of his uncle’s father, Peter.
Richard added: “Peter taught me a lot about farming, how to deal with any problems that farming might throw at you, how to enjoy farming and how to respect the countryside. He was always fighting for farmers in general and trying to make things better for the next generations.
“My passion for farming will always be a huge part of my life, and a couple of pounds from anyone who wants to donate will mean a lot to me and all the family members involved with Peter.”
