Somerset supporters Peter Wyatt and Robert Mann received awards from former trustee James Orme at the Royal Bath & West Show in recognition of their years of service.
Peter was chairman of the committee for 15 years, having taken up the role in 2000. The Foot & Mouth epidemic struck soon after and Peter travelled the county giving talks and collecting donations on behalf of the charity.
In 2015, Peter handed over the role of chairman to Robert Mann. Robert first became involved with R.A.B.I in the 1990s when he helped deliver hampers at Christmas. He served as chairman of the East Sussex committee for a number of years before moving to Somerset, where he continued to support the charity.
Pam Wills, regional manager for the South West, said: “Robert has always been generous with his time and puts a lot of effort into supporting R.A.B.I. The charity is close to his heart.”
