Every year, supporter Sally Mitchell delivers Christmas hampers to the people we help in Norfolk.
The people she gives hampers to are often elderly and isolated. Giving them a hamper full of festive treats shows someone’s thinking of them.
Sally said: “I’ve been doing this for around 30 years, ever since I joined the Norfolk committee. My sister used to come with me and we’d drive all over the place making deliveries.
“I enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories. They’re genuine farming people in need of help. The charity has a family feel, you really get to know people.”
Sally joined the Norfolk committee in 1986. She became a trustee soon after and served in the role for 14 years. Although she retired from the committee last year, she still gets involved in R.A.B.I events. Earlier this year, she helped sell tickets for the annual Norfolk cocktail evening.
Sally added: “I’m a farmer’s daughter and wife, though I always say a wife does as much work on the farm as the farmer! We have a mixed arable and beef farm in a very pretty area of Norfolk.”
