Former motorcycle racer and TV presenter Guy Martin attended the Annual Staffordshire RABI Dinner on Thursday 13 March as the evening’s guest speaker, joined by his partner, Sharon.
For over 20 years, the annual dinner has been hosted by the Staffordshire RABI County Committee, welcoming a wide variety of speakers, from Adam Henson to Amanda Owen.
As a self-described ‘part-time farmer’ with a rich breadth of experiences, Guy was a natural choice of guest speaker for this year’s dinner, which also marked RABI’s 165th anniversary of supporting the farming community in England and Wales.
Guy took part in an interview-style discussion with Henry Bennett-Gough for his talk, covering a range of topics, from his background and motorcycle career to his interest in farming, new TV show ‘Proper Jobs’ and future plans.
“I’m proud to support RABI at this fantastic annual dinner and help to raise funds for a great cause supporting farmers,” said Guy.
In addition to Guy’s talk the evening’s 470 guests participated in a promise auction, a raffle run by Staffordshire YFC and an envelope draw.
RABI is sincerely grateful to everyone who attended the event, helping raise over £20,500 in total. This will enable the charity to continue offering farmers and their families practical, financial and emotional assistance when they need it most.
