Steve and Juliet Gibbon from Knighton in Mid-Wales completed their epic charity walk from John o’Groats to Lands’ End accompanied by Poppy their dog, covering a total distance of 1,360 miles.
Juliet is a member of RABI’s Brecon & Radnor county committee. The couple raised funds for three charities – RABI, Children in Need and Read Easy Shropshire Hills.
All charities have struggled to raise funds over the last year or so, so we thought that now was the time to strap our boots on and put in the miles to help three charities which are close to our hearts,” explains Juliet.
Steve and Juliet walked in relay starting at John o’Groats following national trails and minor roads on their journey. They passed through Inverness, Aviemore, Fort William, Glasgow, Carlisle, Lancaster, Liverpool, Shrewsbury, Worcester, Bristol, Salcombe, Plymouth, before reaching Lands’ End in August.
During their coast to coast walk the couple stayed with Cumbrian Committee Members Betty and Michael Graham and Rachel and Philip Wooff from the Monmouthshire committee. They were very generously hosted by these volunteers. “
