Volunteers in Ceredigion organised three fundraisers in a fortnight to raise over £2,700.
A coffee morning in Cardigan was followed by a duck race in Felin-fach the next day and a tractor run from the Ffostrasol Arms in Llandysul a fortnight later. The tractor run was held in memory of Mervyn Smith, a stalwart of the Ceredigion committee. Forty-six tractors took part, visiting several locations that had been important to Mervyn.
Euros Davies, chair of the Ceredigion committee, said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended these fundraisers. These events don’t just happen, they require planning and rely on people giving their time. We’re especially grateful to Nigel Smith and his family along with supporter Gareth Davies for helping to organise the tractor run, as well as Arthur Davies and his staff at the Ffostrasol Arms. Gareth Davies of Glanwern Farm, Felin-fach, allowed us to hold the duck race on his land.”
Regional manager for Wales, Linda Jones, added: “Our Ceredigion volunteers have been extremely busy and three events in a fortnight is certainly impressive. Their dedication and commitment is inspiring.”
