The ploughathon is a highlight of the students’ calendar and pulls a good crowd every year, allowing students to gain knowledge on traditional cultivation techniques as well as have some fun.

The evening’s barbeque, bar and plough raised £400 to be split equally between the two charities.
University of Reading Agricultural Society member, Miles Oakley said: “This whole event would not have been possible without kind donations – thanks to John Textor at Southern Harvesters Claas dealership for providing us with a Claas 650 Arion tractor for the plough; Shorts Agricultural contractor for providing us with a five furrow Kuhn plough and COPAS Farms for the use of their events trailer.”
