On 28 May, William Hyde set off on a remarkable 265km ultramarathon from the Western Sahara to Marrakesh in support of RABI. Six days later, after covering desert and mountain terrain, he completed the challenge.

Will took on the challenge in memory of his friend, Harley Pearce, an agricultural contractor from Wiltshire who sadly died following a tractor incident in 2025, aged 21.

Alongside raising funds for RABI, Will also helped increase awareness of the importance of supporting farming people and the challenges many can face. He was accompanied throughout the journey by his friend, Tom Darby.

Reflecting on the challenge, Will said:

“There were blisters, sore legs, sleepless nights and countless opportunities to quit. Yet each day, I showed up, took another step and trusted the process. Five ultramarathons later, the achievement isn’t just the distance – it’s the commitment to keep going and Harley was with me every step of the way!”

So far, Will has raised over £3,900 for RABI. We are incredibly grateful for his support and determination. The funds raised will help RABI continue supporting farming people through practical, financial and emotional assistance when it is needed most.
