For the fifth consecutive year, Malmesbury couple Melanie and Jeremy Newman will be hosting a Farmhouse Breakfast event at their Winkworth Farm. Andy and Sue from Waring’s Catering are sure to be on sizzling form in the Lea kitchen on Thursday February 22 (from 8.30am).
R.A.B.I’s annual Farmhouse Breakfast campaign promotes everything that’s good about British produce in order to make winter a little warmer for families in serious hardship. Last winter, R.A.B.I served up more than 2,000 breakfasts across 28 campaign events to generate over £20,000.
Jenni Green, regional manager for South Central, said: “Lots of people will be supporting our Farmhouse Breakfast campaign by hosting a breakfast event for friends, family or work colleagues and encouraging guests to make a donation to us.
“We’ve been holding this annual event at Winkworth Farm since 2013 and it’s gone from strength to strength. In that time we’ve had wonderful support from many local businesses and it’s become a real highlight on our Wiltshire events calendar. We’re looking forward to seeing friends old and new.”
Malcolm Thomas, chairman, will be attending the February fundraiser. Eggs will be supplied by Bruce and Gail Hamilton of Sherston Free Range Eggs and their chickens are likely to be busy – in the four years the event has been running some 640 eggs have been eaten!
Jenni added: “We’ve raised £3,902 towards R.A.B.I’s work from this event, over four years. This time around, we hope to double last year’s total of £1,392 with Barclays generously agreeing to put up match funding.”
