Financial support remains a crucial element of our offer. Supporting low-income farming people with their personal finances, as well as all eligible farming people during times of financial crisis, RABI awards around £3million of direct financial support each year.

In addition, RABI runs targeted campaigns aimed at crisis support, such as our Return To School and Winter Fuel Grant cost of living campaigns. Preventative campaigns aim to arm farming people to better weather the uncertain landscape and the associated challenges they face.

We also offer short term/one off monetary grants for a broad range of personal, financial crisis needs such as:

– Food, utility bills, rent and council tax assistance

– Essential home repairs

– Personal need/critical transportation costs

Financial support when training will increase the opportunity to gain off-farm income that supplements the primary farm income, such as: tree surgeon, forklift, crop spraying, foot trimming, sheep shearing, scanning.

Funding for owner occupier or tenant farmers where additional farmworker support is required due to accident, illness or other crisis situations.

Independent Living Grants enabling older people to live in care homes near their loved ones and provide independent living adaptations and aids for farming people of all ages.
