RABI Volunteer Newsletter – January 2025

Welcome to the latest online newsletter for RABI volunteers.

If you have any feedback or stories you’d like to share with us, please get in touch at volunteering@rabi.org.uk.

Thank you for your support.

Volunteer Survey

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to RABI. Your continued support as a RABI volunteer helps ensure that we can make a real difference to an increasing number of farming people across England and Wales.

At RABI, we strive to make our volunteer experience the best it can be, and we’re asking for your help to make it better for everyone. As part of this, we’ve put together a short survey to understand how you feel about your volunteer experience with us. Your honest feedback will be invaluable in shaping and prioritising future initiatives.

Please take a moment to complete the survey here. It should only take a few minutes to complete.

The survey will stay open until Friday 21 February. Please be assured that your responses are anonymous, and we’ll make sure no one can be identified in any of the findings.

If you have any questions about the survey or would like to access a paper copy, please contact volunteering@rabi.org.uk.

Volunteer Handbook

RABI 2025 Volunteer handbook

We’re excited to share a link to the new RABI Volunteer Handbook. The handbook was developed in close collaboration with the Volunteer Voice group in response to the invaluable feedback we received in last year’s Volunteer Survey.

It is designed to be a practical and supportive resource for every volunteer — whether you volunteer with a committee or in another role, have just started as a volunteer or have been with RABI for a few years.

Initially, the handbook will be available in a digital format on the RABI website. This helps keep the information up to date, making it more cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

If you have any further questions about the handbook or would like to discuss anything further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at volunteering@rabi.org.uk.

Treasurers’ Guidance

Last week, we circulated guidance for Committee Treasurers. This was developed in collaboration with a few Treasurers and should help with frequent questions on the use of Bankline, quarterly returns, etc.

If you are a Volunteer Treasurer, Chair of a Committee, or user of Bankline and have not received this, please contact volunteering@rabi.org.uk.

Volunteer Voice

We are looking for more volunteers to join our Volunteer Voice group. The group of staff and volunteers meet approximately every six weeks to discuss developments and priorities related to volunteering across RABI. It’s an informal group and has proved invaluable in supporting initiatives such as the handbook, the survey, improvements to communications, etc.

If you are interested in joining, please contact volunteering@rabi.org.uk.
