RABI Volunteer Newsletter – March 2026

Welcome to the latest online newsletter for RABI volunteers.

Volunteer Survey

As RABI continues to evolve, your feedback really matters to us.

Your insights will help us understand what is working well, identify areas for improvement, and inform the development of better tools, resources, and communications, including our new Volunteer Portal.

It takes around five minutes to complete and will be open until Monday 13 April.

Please take a few moments to share your views and ensure your voice is heard.

Committee Spring Meetings

We’re really looking forward to bringing committee members together at our upcoming Spring Meetings. These sessions are a great opportunity to connect, share ideas and look ahead to the year together.

We’ll be covering:

  • 2026 Shows and Events – overview of what is happening when and support available
  • FarmersAid – what it is, the launch of the new app and engagement at shows
  • The Volunteer Portal – a secure digital platform to help volunteers access resources and connect

New uniform and other resources will be distributed at the meetings. Food and refreshments will be provided, and travel expenses covered.

Dates and venues:

  • 29 April – Shaw House, Oxford (6pm–9pm)
  • 30 April – Centre for Animal Welfare, Godmanchester (6pm–9pm)
  • 6 May – Devon Young Farmers Club (6pm–9pm)
  • 7 May – Presidents Pavilion, Royal Welsh Showground (6pm–9pm)
  • 13 May – Pavilions, Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Harrogate (6pm–9pm)
  • 14 May – Online option (7pm–9pm)

Volunteer Portal Update

We’re excited to share that our new Volunteer Portal will launch this month, bringing opportunities, training and key information together in one place.

  • Phase 1 launches this week for Event Volunteers.
  • Phase 2 will follow for committee roles over the coming months, with access expected this summer.

We are looking for volunteers to help test the portal and share feedback to make sure it meets existing and future volunteer needs.

If you are interested, please email volunteering@rabi.org.uk. and thank you to everyone who has already stepped forward.

We will continue to share updates as the portal develops. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do get in touch.

Sharing your stories on Facebook

We wanted to share an update on how we’ll be bringing together and celebrating the work happening across our communities on Facebook.

Activity across RABI’s communities continues to grow, from fundraising and volunteering to local events.

To bring this together and make it easier to share what’s happening, updates from across England and Wales will now be shared on our new Facebook page, RABI Communities. This will help ensure local activity is more visible, better connected, and recognised in one place.

As part of this change, regional Facebook pages will be phased out over a short transition period.

If you would like us to feature activity from your area, please send content and stories to committees@rabi.org.uk.
